The Supreme Court listings for 5 October to 18 December 2009 have now been published.  The listings for hearings in the Privy Council are also included.   The Court is provisionally listed to hear 16 appeals in this period, including one from Scotland.

The first appeal to be heard will be the case of A v Her Majesty’s Treasury [2008] EWCA Civ 1187, a classic constitutional case concerning the legality of Orders in Council under the United Nations Act 1946 which established an asset freezing regime in relation to suspected terrorists.  Tim Owen QC, Rabinder Singh QC and Dan Squires of Matrix represent the appellants.
