On Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 July the Court will hear the matter of Montgomery v Lanarkshire Health Board to decide whether a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist was negligent in managing the appellant’s pregnancy and labour and whether any negligence caused the child’s brain injury. This will be heard in Court 1 for two days.

On Wednesday 23 July 2014 the Court will hand down judgment in the following: Coventry & Ors v Lawrence & Anor.

On Thursday 24 July 2014, the Court will hear the case of Moohan & Anor v The Lord Advocate over whether prisoners in Scotland will be eligible to vote in the Scottish referendum if they remain incarcerated on the day of the referendum. The prisoners allege the current prohibition in the Scottish Independence Referendum (Franchise) Act 2013 breaches their ECHR, A3P1 and art 10.

The Privy Council on Monday 21 July will hear the Jamaican appeal of UC Rusal Alumina Jamaica Ltd & Ors v Wynette Miller & Ors regarding the proper interpretation of the rules of the Pension Plan. And on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 July the PC will hear the British Virgin Islands appeal of Nilon Ltd & Anor v Royal Westminster Investments SA & Ors over whether an action to amend the register of members of a company could come within the jurisdiction of the British Virgin Islands.
