There are no sittings in the Supreme Court on Monday 16 or Friday 20 June 2014.

 

On Tuesday 17 June, until Thursday 19 June 2014, the Court will hear the appeal of FHR European Ventures LLP & Ors v Cedar Capital Partners LLC. This appeal concerns whether an agent receiving a secret commission holds the sum on constructive trust for the principal and which gives rise to proprietary rights. In Court 2 from 10.30 am each day.

 

Also on Thursday 19 June 2014, the Court will hear the appeal of R (Moseley) v London Borough of Haringey. This case will decide on the proper approach to consultations, especially under the Local Government Finance Act 1992, Sch 1A in relation to Council Tax Reduction Schemes. In Court 1 for 1 day, from 10.30 am.

 

On Wednesday 18 June, the Court will hand down judgment in three cases; R (T & Anor) v SSHD & Anor, R v Ahmad & Anor, Fields & Ors v CPS and R (Nunn) v Chief Constable of Suffolk Constabulary. These will be handed down in Court 2 from 9.45.

 

In the Privy Council there are four appeal hearings this week. On Monday 16 June from 11 am in Court 3, there will be the appeal of Cukurova Finance International Ltd & Anor v Alfa Telecom Turkey Ltd concerning the repayment terms of a loan. Following that, the PC will hear the Bahaman appeal of Bimini Blue Coalition Ltd v Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas & Ors.On Tuesday 17 June, the PC will hear the Turks and Caicos Islands case of Fortis TCI Ltd v Islandcom Telecommunications Ltd and on Wednesday 18June, the Trinidad and Tobago  appeal of Williamson v The Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago.
