As the Supreme Court prepares to open its doors, the debate over the risks and rewards of the new institution continues. This morning, City AM quotes Malcolm Davies-White QC as saying that the Supreme Court is “totally unnecessary” from a constitutional point of view, and our own Hugh Tomlinson QC commenting that it was a matter of public record that the former law lords were split over whether the Supreme Court was a good thing.
