In our round up of the week’s hearings posted yesterday we mentioned that, in the case of R (A) v B (see case preview), the law reform and human rights organisation JUSTICE was again intervening (having also been an intervener  in A, K and M v HM Treasury).   We noted that JUSTICE had not made its submissions available on its website.   The written submissions have now been made available to UKSC Blog and are here.  They are drafted, pro bono, by Lord Pannick QC and Tom Hickman (instructed by Freshfields, acting pro bono) and provide powerful support for the case of the appellant.

We are grateful to JUSTICE for providing these submissions and we hope that other parties to Supreme Court cases will make what are public documents generally available.   As we have said before, it is hoped that such documents will, in due course, be available to everyone via the Court’s website (as in jurisdictions such as Canada, South Africa and the United States – see our “information wishlist”)
