The House of Lords dealt with a number of petitions and other procedural matters. Leave to appeal was refused in the Symeou case.

1   AM (Somalia) and another (FC) (Appellant   ) and another (FC) (Appellant) and others v Entry Clearance Officer (Respondent) The petition of the appellants praying that the time for lodging the statement and appendix and setting down the cause for hearing might be extended to 4 August (the agents for the respondent consenting thereto) was presented; and it was ordered as prayed.

2   Appeal Committee The 57th Report from the Appeal Committee was agreed to and the following Orders were made:

Director of Public Prosecutions (Respondent) v Harpur (AP) (Petitioner) (Northern Ireland) That leave to appeal be refused.

Norris (Petitioner) v Government of the United States of America and another (Respondents) That leave to appeal be given on the first point only and refused on the speciality point; and that notwithstanding the time limits imposed by Standing Order I the petition of appeal be lodged in the Registry of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom after 17 August and no later than 30 September.

Symeou (Petitioner) v Public Prosecutor at the Court of Appeals, Patras, Greece (Respondent) That leave to appeal be refused.
