Hearings in the Supreme Court are now shown live on the Court’s website.
On Tuesday 21 May, the Supreme Court will hear the appeal London Borough of Lambeth v Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government & Ors. This appeal will consider whether a condition restricting the use of the premises should be implied into a planning permission granted by the appellant; alternatively whether the planning permission should be interpreted an containing such a condition. This will be heard in Courtroom 2.
On Wednesday 22 May, the Supreme Court will hand down judgment in Hancock & Anor v Commissioners for HMRC. The proposed panel for hand down is Lord Reed, Lord Carnwarth and Lady Arden. This appeal considered whether a conversion of non-qualifying corporate bonds and qualifying corporate bonds in a reorganisation is to be treated as single conversions or two distinct conversions for the purposes of the Taxation of Chargeable Gains Act 1992, s 132.
