The House of Lords, in its final week, will hear appeals in three cases and give judgments in four more. As the House of Lords in its legislative capacity is not sitting, the three appeals will be heard in the Chamber. All 12 members of the Judicial Committee will be involved in the hearings, including Lord Saville (whose last case was in May 2000).

The appeals to be heard are in the following cases:

Monday 27 July and Tuesday 28 July 2009:   Barratt Homes Limited (Respondents) v Dwr Cymru Cyfyngedig (Welsh Water) (Appellants),   The Committee will consist of  Lords Phillips, Saville and Walker, Baroness Hale and Lord Clarke

Wednesday 29 July 2009   Louca (Appellant) v A German Judicial authority (Respondents).  The Committee will consist of Lords Hope, Rodger, Mance, Collins and Kerr

Thursday 30 July 2009: BA (Nigeria) (FC) (Respondent) v Secretary of State for the Home Department (Appellant) and others and  PE (Cameroon) (FC) (Respondent) v Secretary of State for the Home Department (Appellant) (Consolidated Appeals).  The Committee will consist of Lords Hope, Scott, Rodger, Baroness Hale and Lord Brown.
