The so-called ‘gay cake case’, in which Ashers Bakery lost their appeal to the Northern Ireland Court of Appeal last month, is now to be heard at the Supreme Court.

The Attorney General of Northern Ireland is referring the case to the Supreme Court to decide matters of devolution which he considers this case to raise.

The McArthur family, owners of the bakery, have also indicated an intention to appeal to the Supreme Court, following judicial confirmation that they have grounds to seek leave to appeal on 22 Nov 2016.

This has been reported Irish Legal News and in The Times.
