On Tuesday 9 February 2016 the Supreme Court will hear the appeal of Lynn Shellfish Ltd & Ors v Loose & Anor concerning whether the appellants are entitled to take shellfish from certain sandbanks on the Eastern Wash in Norfolk or whether they are in fact trespassing on the respondents’ land. It will be heard in Court 2 from 10.30am and will continue on Wednesday.

On Wednesday 10 February it will hand down judgment in the appeal of Kennedy v Cordia (Services) LLP (Scotland) concerning expert evidence given at a hearing considering the respondent employer’s liability to carry out the correct risk assessments to protect their employees from harm. These will be handed down in Court 1 from 9.45am.

On Tuesday 9 February the Privy Council will hand down judgment in the case of Brown v The Queen (Jamaica). It will also hear the appeal of Oliviera v The Attorney General (Antigua and Barbuda) regarding if the time between the appellant’s application to be registered as a citizen and his actual registration as a citizen was so unreasonably long that his constitutional right to be registered as a citizen was breached. It will heard in Court 3 following the judgment hand down at 10.30am. On Thursday it will hear the appeal of Brown’s Bay Resort Ltd v Pozzoni (Antigua and Barbuda) concerning clause 19 of the respondent’s lease with the appellant, particularly what is the correct construction of clause 19. This will be heard in Court 3 from 10.30am.
