On Tuesday 28 June 2016 the Supreme Court will hear the appeal of R (Hicks & Ors) v Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis, considering whether the Court of Appeal was correct to hold that the appellants’ arrests and detention were lawful under ECHR, art 5(1)(c) or (b). The appellants had been temporarily arrested at various places around central London on the day of the Royal Wedding in April 2011, in order to prevent breaches of the peace, before being arrested without further action being taken. This will be heard in Court 2 from 10.30am.

On Wednesday 29 June it will hand down judgment in the following cases:

R (Bancoult No 2) v Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs. The panel will be Lord Neuberger, Lady Hale, Lord Mance, Lord Kerr, Lord Clarke.

Goluchowski v District Court in Elblag, Poland.; Sas v Circuit Court and District Court in Jelenia Gora, Poland. The panel will be Lord Neuberger, Lord Mance, Lord Wilson, Lord Hughes, Lord Toulson

On Thursday 30 June it will hear the appeal of Impact Funding Solutions Ltd v AIG Europe Insurance Ltd, regarding the scope of the “debts and trading” liabilities exclusion contained in the Minimum Terms and Conditions of Professional Indemnity Insurance for Solicitors and Registered European Lawyers in England and Wales.

On Tuesday 28 June 2016 the Privy Council will hand down judgment in the appeal of The United Policyholders Group & Ors v The Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago (Trinidad and Tobago) in Court 3 at 10.30am. It will then hear the appeal in Janin Caribbean Construction Limited v Wilkinson & Anor (as executors of the estate of Ernest Clarence Wilkinson) & Anor (Grenada), also in Court 3.
