On Monday 17 November 2014 the Court will hear the appeal of Morgan Stanley & Co International Plc v Tael One Partners Ltd involving the requirement to make a payment to the appellant in respect of a ‘Payment Premium’ in regards to repaying the capital of a loan. The appellant argued that under the Loan Market Association terms it was entitled to the portion of the Payment Premium that accrued in relation to the respondent’s participation by reference to the period before the loan settlement date. It will be heard in Court 2 from 11am.

On Tuesday 18 November the Court will hear the appeal of Secretary of State for the Home Department v B2 regarding the respondent’s order to deprive the appellant of British Nationality on the grounds that it would be conducive to the public good under the British Nationality Act 1981, s 40(2). The Court must decide whether it would render him stateless within the meaning of s 40(4) of the Act. It will be heard in Court 1 from 10.30am and will continue on Wednesday.

On Wednesday 5 November the Court will hand down judgment in R (SG & Ors) v The Secretary of State for Work and Pension regarding the lawfulness of the Benefit Cap (Housing Benefit) Regulations 2012. It will be handed down in Court 2 from 9.45am.

On Thursday 20 November the Court will hear the appeal of Royal Bank of Scotland plc v Carlyle involving the agreements to purchase and develop certain plots of land between the appellant and respondent. The Court must decide whether there was ‘an agreement on all the essentials’ of a putative obligation to lend and whether the parties had intended to be bound by the written agreement. This will be heard in Court 1 from 10.30am.

On Monday 17 November the Privy Council will hear the appeal of Mitchell v Georges involving what the appropriate test for apparent bias was in the circumstances of a produced interim report. This will be heard in Court 3 at 11am.
