The Scottish Public Law Group have announced that Lady Hale, the President of the UK Supreme Court, will give an address in Scotland on Thursday 14 June 2018. The event will take place in the Signet Library in Edinburgh and is entitled “20 years on: Devolution and the Supreme Court – A Conversation with Lady Hale“.
The event marks the 20th anniversary of the enactment of the devolution statutes and the ability, for the first time in the democratic era, for courts in the UK to strike down primary legislation passed by a democratically elected legislature.
In this address, Lady Hale – in her first speech in Scotland since being appointed as President of the UK Supreme Court – will reflect on the contribution of that court to the development of devolution jurisprudence within and across the devolution settlements.
The event is free to attend. Further information about the event and registration details are available here.

I am a Partner at Osborne Clarke LLP, and the Secretary of the Intellectual Property Lawyers’ Association (IPLA). IPLA would like to invite Lady Hale to speak at our annual dinner on Thurs 18 October in London. Please could you let me know how to contact her clerk to discuss this further? Many thanks.
Best regards, Arty
