Earlier this week we reported on the Supreme Court’s anonymity order in the A v HM Treasury case. The Court has now put this order onto the news section of its website. The order recites the removal of anonymity for the appellant “G” and the granting of an interim order for the other appellants until Thursday 8 October 2009. This hearing has now been adjourned until 22 October when the anonymity issues will be properly argued.
This is the first order of the Court to be made public. We hope that, in time, such orders will migrate from “news” onto a special “orders” section of the website. We understand that when the Court’s case management system is properly running and linking to the website Court documents and orders will be publicly available for download.
The order of the Supreme Court in the JFS case – heard at short notice on the first day of operation – is not yet available on the website. It appears that the case management system will, eventually, give us details of all such interim orders. Meanwhile, we look forward to seeing the order on the “news” section of the website.
