On Monday 28 July 2014 the Court will hear the appeal of Michael & Ors v The Chief Constable of South Wales Police & Anor. The case regards a death following a delayed response by the police to a 999 call and whether the police are liable in negligence or ECHR, art 2. The appellant had made a call to the emergency services and told the police that she faced a threat to her life. However, the call was improperly downgraded such that an immediate response was not considered necessary. The appellant then made another 999 call where the police could hear screaming. The police then realised the seriousness of the situation, however by the time they had arrived the appellant had already been stabbed to death. This will be heard in Court 2 for two days from 11 am each day.

On Wednesday 30 July 2014 the Court will hand down judgment in the following: Hounga v Allen & Anor regarding a claim for discrimination in her employment by an illegal domestic worker; David T Morrison & Co Ltd t/a Gael Home Interiors v ICL Plastics Ltd & Ors regarding a claim for loss and damage following a factory explosion and Healthcare at Home Ltd v The Common Services Agency regarding the fairness of a healthcare supply tender system.
