On the 16 February 2015, the Judicial Appointments Commission published its response to the report by Sir Geoffrey Bindman QC and Karon Monaghan QC, entitled Accelerating Change: Judicial Diversity, published on this Blog in November 2014 which can be found here.

The response goes through each of the recommendations put forward in the report and discusses how the JAC plans to action them. It also highlights some of the systems it already has in place that it hopes will increase judicial diversity over time, such as the Equal Merits Provision it put in place on 1 July 2014 and the changes it made following the Report of the Lord Chancellor’s Advisory Panel on Judicial Diversity.
