On Wednesday 10 August, it will hand down the judgment in MB v Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. This appeal considers whether a post-operative male-to-female transsexual ought to have been given a state pension when she reached the pensionable age for women. The appellant had not been entitled to a full gender recognition certificate, as she remained married to a woman. The panel will Lady Hale, Lord Wilson, Lord Sumption, Lord Toulson and Lord Hodge.
The judgment will be handed down at 10.30am.
The Supreme Court is now in recess, after the end of Trinity Term. Michaelmas Term will begin on Monday 3 October 2016.
