On Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 July 2020, the Supreme Court will hear the appeal of Enka Insaat Ve Sanayi AS v OOO Insurance Company Chubb. This appeal will consider, inter alia, the correct approach to determining the proper law of an arbitration agreement.

On Wednesday 29 July 2020, the Supreme Court will hand down judgment in Lehtimaki & Ors v Cooper. This appeal considers whether the court has jurisdiction to direct members of a charitable company on how to exercise their powers absent breach of fiduciary duty.

On Wednesday 29 July and Thursday 30 July, the Privy Council will hear the appeal of Chu v Lau (British Virgin Islands).This appeal will consider, inter alia, whether the Court of Appeal of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court erred in overturning the first-instance judge’s finding of fact that Ocean Sino Ltd was deadlocked and in making the consequent order that it be wound up on the just and equitable ground.
