On Monday 22 February 2016 the Supreme Court will hear the appeal of R(MM) & Ors v Secretary of State for the Home Department and another case concerning whether the introduction into the Immigration Rules of a Minimum Income Requirement (MIR) for a UK citizen or resident wishing to bring a non-EEA spouse or partner into the UK is in breach of the ECHR, art 8, unlawfully discriminatory and/or irrational. This will be heard in Court 1 from 11am and will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10.30am.

On Wednesday 24 February it will hand down judgment in the appeal of Knauer v Ministry of Justice concerning the appropriate date for the assessment of multipliers in claims for future loss under the Fatal Accidents Act 1976; whether the appropriate date is the date of death or the date of trial. This will be handed down in Court 1 from 9.45am.

On Thursday 25 February it will hear the appeal of Airtours Holidays Transport Ltd v Revenue and Customs regarding whether the Appellant is entitled to recover input tax on payments it made to certain advisers under a tripartite agreement between it, the advisers and certain banks. It will be heard in Court 1 from 10.30am.

On Tuesday 23 February 2016 the Privy Council will hear the appeal of Bahamas Oil Refining Company International Ltd v The Owners of the Cape Bari Tankschiffahrts GMBH & Co KG (Bahamas) concerning whether it is permissible for the owners of a vessel to contract out of or waive its statutory right of limitation under the Merchant Shipping (Maritime Claims Limitation of Liability) Act 1989 and the Convention on Limitation of Liability for Maritime Claims 1976. This will be heard in Court 3 from 10.30am.
